Import Documentary Collection
Having shipped the goods, the supplier presents the necessary documents, together with their instructions, to their bank which forwards the documents to importer’s bank for payment. With a Documentary Collection against payment (D/P), import documents are released to the importer on payment. With a Documentary Collection against acceptance (D/A), the documents are released to the importer against their promise to pay.
Import Documentary Credits
Documentary Credits are the safest and often most convenient means of financing trade related transactions. Letter of Credit (Documentary or Standby) is a written undertaking given by a bank (Issuing Bank) to a beneficiary on instruction from an applicant (issuing Bank’s client) to pay the beneficiary at sight, or at a determinable future date, a stated amount of money within a defined time period. This undertaking is conditional upon the beneficiary’s documentary compliance with the terms and conditions in the Letter of Credit.
Documentary Credits issued by China Construction Bank are widely accepted as payment assurance by suppliers and their banks.
